Intern - Engineering (Heavy Equipment Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Support loader testing, including controlled-environment and sound tests, while following performance and safety standards.
• Collect engineering data, prepare reports and procedural documents, and support project requests and evaluation boards.
• Operate and maintain test tracks and machinery, including participation in outdoor equipment testing.
• Conduct strain gauging and precise dimensional measurements using FARO arms and Laser Trackers.
• Assist with Manufacturing Root Cause Studies and contribute to equipment issue investigations.
• Apply LINCS software, spreadsheet modeling, pivot tables, and 3D drawings to support technical analysis and presentations.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an accredited engineering or engineering technology degree program; sophomore or junior standing is preferred, while freshmen with relevant experience may apply.
• Hands-on technical or mechanical experience, such as mechanic work, electrical repairs, automotive service, agriculture, or similar practical work.
• Experience with 3D modeling software, particularly Solid Edge or SolidWorks.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Ability to perform outdoor manual work, equipment maintenance, and testing in weather conditions up to 110°F.
• Ability to alternate between office-based analysis and hands-on work at workshops or test tracks during the same workday.

Nice to have

• Background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mathematics, or graphic arts.
• Familiarity with CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator.
