Software Project Manager (WMS)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; travel to project sites required, estimated at 20%–30%

What you will do

• Act as the local expert on Warehouse Management Systems and intralogistics automation technologies.
• Define Warehouse Execution System functionality and align project deliverables with clients and internal product teams.
• Lead customer workshops, gather requirements, demonstrate software functionality, and facilitate specification signoff.
• Serve as the primary liaison for software and IT topics across clients, project managers, product teams, and development teams.
• Provide technical leadership, resolve software-related issues, and support testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
• Maintain documentation covering software configurations, specifications, and user guides.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in software management with Warehouse Management Systems and intralogistics automation.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and project management principles.
• Experience leading workshops, mentoring team members, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving stakeholder consensus.
• English at CEFR B2 level and fluent spoken and written Japanese required.
• Ability to travel occasionally for customer meetings and project deployments.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoStore.
• PMP, Agile Scrum Master, or another relevant certification.
• Experience working with international teams or on global projects.
• Knowledge of additional languages used in the company’s operating regions.
