Platform Information Security Officer (PISO), Diagnostics Platform (Medical Devices)

Location: USA - Remote; regular international travel to Diagnostics operating company sites is required, up to 25–30% of the time. The Global Information Security organization is located in Washington, D.C.

Annual salary: $225,000–$275,000, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end cybersecurity execution across all Diagnostics operating companies and translate enterprise security standards into measurable outcomes.
• Build, lead, and develop a globally distributed Platform Security Team covering security architecture, technical risk, cyber assurance, data and AI security, cyber PMO, and manufacturing security.
• Manage the platform cyber risk register, vulnerability prioritization, remediation, architecture reviews, integration engineering, and security standards for enterprise, cloud, and connected medical-device environments.
• Lead cyber assurance programs, audits, certifications, customer security questionnaires, and third-party assessments.
• Coordinate medical-device product security, including FDA premarket and postmarket requirements, SBOM, PSIRT operations, and vulnerability management.
• Drive acquisition diligence and integration, data protection, AI security governance, application security, secrets management, MFA, and OT/manufacturing security across global sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, with 12+ years of information security experience.
• Experience owning an end-to-end cybersecurity function across multiple business units, sites, or operating companies in a global organization.
• Experience as a CISO, Deputy CISO, business-unit or divisional CISO, or equivalent senior cybersecurity leader.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams through multiple management layers and operating through matrixed relationships without direct authority.
• Experience with ISO 27001, HITRUST, SOC 2, PCI DSS, customer assurance, third-party assessments, and cybersecurity audits.
• Experience with connected medical devices or regulated hardware, FDA medical-device cybersecurity, HIPAA, GDPR, China PIPL, and cybersecurity programs spanning multiple countries.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity leadership experience in medical devices, IVD, diagnostics, life sciences, or another regulated patient-facing industry.
• Familiarity with FDA Section 524B, IEC 81001-5-1, IEC 62443, and EU IVDR or MDR cybersecurity expectations.
• Experience with AI security governance, LLM application security, secure AI-assisted development, and clinical-data governance for AI workloads.
