Senior Director, Information Technology

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States; based at headquarters with onsite presence required at least three days per week.

Salary: $270,000–$330,000 annual base salary for employees located in the San Francisco Bay Area, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the enterprise IT strategy, roadmap, financial planning, service levels, and operational metrics.
• Lead enterprise IT services across Microsoft 365, identity and access management, endpoints, networking, cloud services, business applications, and end-user support.
• Build an MSP-enabled operating model, manage strategic technology partners, and lead the IT leadership team.
• Advance cybersecurity, disaster recovery, business continuity, incident response, third-party risk management, and compliance capabilities.
• Partner with Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Legal, HR, Research, Informatics, and Technical Operations on scalable technology solutions and critical enterprise platforms.
• Support secure enterprise AI adoption, AI governance, platform evaluation, and automation of routine work.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in technology leadership.
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or another highly regulated environment; clinical-stage and public-company experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience leading enterprise IT in a cloud-first, SaaS-based environment and managing MSPs and strategic technology partners.
• Strong experience with cybersecurity, business continuity, disaster recovery, enterprise applications, identity and access management, endpoint management, networking, and end-user services.
• Familiarity with SOX, GDPR, GxP, GAMP 5, audits, access controls, and computer system validation.
• Strong business judgment, communication, change leadership, and cross-functional partnership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with clinical development, public companies, CROs, clinical systems, quality systems, or document-management platforms.
• Experience improving operations through emerging technologies, including AI.
