Senior Security Data Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Only U.S. persons are eligible because the role involves access to export-controlled technology or data.

Salary: $130,800–$209,400 annually. Positions performed in California have a separate range of $158,193–$182,007.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate ingestion pipelines for asset, vulnerability, finding, remediation, threat intelligence, and business-context data.
• Transform raw evidence into normalized security entities and model-ready features covering ownership, exposure, business importance, exploitability, and remediation state.
• Build data foundations for vulnerability detection, triage, shift-left scanning, and unified remediation workflows across code, artifacts, platforms, infrastructure, and runtime environments.
• Implement data quality checks, lineage, monitoring, alerting, and runbooks for pipeline reliability.
• Prepare data products for dashboards, risk reporting, operational views, experimentation, and decision support.
• Collaborate with security, engineering, platform, source-system, and downstream stakeholder teams to improve data contracts and self-service access.

Requirements

• U.S. person eligibility is required under applicable U.S. export control laws; non-U.S. persons cannot be sponsored for an export control license.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, security data engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong production experience with Python and SQL.
• Experience designing and operating ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, schema evolution, incremental processing, and data quality controls.
• Ability to normalize messy or inconsistent datasets and support data products from ingestion through reporting, analytics, model inputs, or decision support.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with medallion, lakehouse, or data-product architecture.
• Experience engineering features for predictive, prioritization, probabilistic, or risk models.
• Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, GxP, SOX, or other regulated environments.
• Background in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, application security, software supply chain security, or shift-left scanning.
• Experience with lineage, observability, orchestration, data catalogs, data contracts, business intelligence, or operational reporting.
