Senior Software Systems Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Salary: $153,200–$234,100 per year, plus incentive pay potential.

What you will do

• Define autonomous vehicle evaluation and validation processes, including test-framework requirements, scenario and test-suite design, coverage, metrics, and confidence evidence.
• Design and implement scalable testing and simulation frameworks for test generation, execution, data collection, result aggregation, and reproducible analysis.
• Build infrastructure and data solutions using simulation and on-road data to assess autonomous vehicle performance.
• Evaluate simulation validity, sim-to-real correlation, predictive value, uncertainty, and confidence measures.
• Develop metrics, sampling approaches, analytical methods, and automated triage and root-cause analysis for deficiencies and regressions.
• Communicate performance insights, limitations, and recommendations to engineers, technical leaders, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong Python programming skills and experience building maintainable analysis, evaluation, or testing tools.
• Experience designing or implementing testing, simulation, or evaluation frameworks for complex software, hardware, or cyber-physical systems.
• Experience with GitHub, Jira, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with end-to-end ownership, analytical and systems-engineering work, root-cause analysis, and performance data.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in engineering, physics, applied mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills, including communicating data-driven findings to leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous vehicles, ADAS, robotics, or production-grade robotic systems.
• Experience with simulation environments, scenario generation, large-scale test execution, or simulation-result analysis.
• Experience with statistical methods, risk assessment, sampling, confidence analysis, metrics, scorecards, coverage measures, or regression detection.
• Experience with verification and validation, simulation-to-real-world correlation, test automation, or large-scale evaluation systems.
