Manager Clinical Lab (Molecular Diagnostics)

Salary: $123,400–$185,200 USD annually, plus potential bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Manage clinical laboratory workflow, production goals, staffing, equipment planning, and operational resources.
• Monitor turnaround time, service-level performance, efficiency, waste, error rates, quality control, and test results.
• Lead continuous improvement projects and transition automation, new tests, and process improvements into production.
• Troubleshoot laboratory processing errors and provide recommendations to laboratory directors, scientists, and statisticians.
• Oversee CAPA and NCR activities, regulatory compliance, approved testing procedures, and safe laboratory operations.
• Lead supervisors and direct reports through hiring, training, performance reviews, employee development, and team meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of experience in a clinical laboratory environment; molecular diagnostics knowledge is preferred.
• Eligible for delegation as both a CAP General Supervisor and NYSDOH Supervisor.
• Current California State CLS or CGMBS license required.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Experience building and managing a high-performing, engaged employee group; strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
