Medical Lab Manager of Anatomic Pathology

Location: Valencia, California, United States; office-based, Monday–Friday. Flexible start time of 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM with corresponding end times of 4:00 PM or 5:00 PM.

Salary: $77,100–$160,700 annualized base pay.

What you will do

• Lead daily operations for assigned laboratory work groups through delegation, supervision, training, and workload planning.
• Coach, develop, and evaluate laboratory staff while supporting hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
• Provide technical leadership and troubleshoot complex laboratory testing challenges.
• Lead quality, safety, CAPA, and compliance activities in a regulated clinical laboratory environment.
• Monitor operational metrics and drive continuous improvement in service quality and efficiency.
• Support procedure development, regulatory updates, and implementation of new tests, equipment, and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; some CAP/CLIA locations may require a relevant laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology degree.
• Typically more than 5 years of experience in a regulated environment, more than 4 years in a regulated laboratory, and more than 2 years of line management experience.
• Practical laboratory experience, preferably in anatomic pathology.
• In-depth knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, applicable regulations, quality assurance, quality control, and company-specific program requirements.
• Ability to analyze complex data, make operational decisions, supervise and coach staff, prioritize work, and manage multiple projects.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk frequently, perform close visual work, and occasionally work in cold temperatures.
