Sr. Director, Customer Identity and Access Management (IAM)

Location: Remote within the United States; employees may live in any of the 50 states, with limited exceptions.

Salary: $277,600–$466,800 annual base salary, depending on location. The role is also eligible for equity awards.

What you will do

• Lead three engineering teams through Engineering Managers and support two Principal Engineers.
• Set the multi-year strategy and roadmap for customer identity and access management across hirify.global Group.
• Consolidate authentication across brands and surfaces using a commercial identity provider extended for consumer-scale requirements.
• Lead development of a fine-grained, low-latency authorization platform with auditable policy evaluation.
• Establish centralized customer and identity services as canonical sources of truth across the Consumer Domain.
• Own organizational planning, budgets, vendor strategy, reliability, security, and executive communication.

Requirements

• 12+ years of high-volume engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading through managers.
• Deep experience with identity and access management, including authentication, authorization, MFA, conditional access, session management, and token management.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, and JWT.
• Experience with commercial IAM platforms such as Auth0, Okta, or Ping Identity.
• Experience delivering widely adopted platform capabilities and working with cloud-scale architectures, reliability, security, and performance constraints.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with fine-grained or relationship-based authorization systems such as Zanzibar-style platforms.
• Experience consolidating authentication across multiple brands, acquisitions, or legacy systems.
• Consumer-scale B2C identity experience and familiarity with domain-driven design.
• Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, or a similar backend language.
