Laboratory Supervisor (Environmental Testing)

Location: Horsham, PA, USA; must live a commutable distance from the laboratory

hirify.global Environment Testing provides analytical testing services for environmental samples, including drinking water, wastewater, soil, air, chemicals, and other matrices through a large US laboratory and service-center network.

What you will do

• Supervise Analysts, Technicians, temporary employees, and the second-shift supervisor when applicable.
• Coordinate laboratory workloads, prioritize projects, release samples, and track turnaround times to meet client requirements.
• Train and develop analysts on laboratory skills, instruments, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Review and validate analytical data, authorize results, prepare reports, and communicate department status and issues.
• Support sample preparation and analysis, instrument maintenance, supply ordering, safety inspections, and sample disposal.
• Create and update department standard operating procedures and help resolve operational and technical problems.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Chemistry or a related field.
• At least 3 years of laboratory experience.
• Advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality assurance plans, standard operating procedures, laboratory safety, chemical hazards, and instrument maintenance.
• Experience or ability in supervision, employee training, prioritization, organization, problem solving, and performance management.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
