Company

hirify.global is a London-based quantum computing scale-up developing scalable quantum processors using industrial-grade silicon chips.

What you will do

  • Drive electrical characterisation of fabricated silicon devices, including threshold voltage, gate oxide reliability, and channel mobility measurements.
  • Analyse electrical data to identify manufacturing variability, device failures, process drift, and root causes across photolithography, etching, oxide growth, CMP, and doping.
  • Develop Python-based automated test routines and instrument-control workflows for room-temperature and low-temperature wafer probing.
  • Apply statistical process control, yield analysis, and data-driven techniques to monitor wafer uniformity and defect density.
  • Work with semiconductor foundries, process engineers, hardware engineers, and quantum engineers to improve device performance, consistency, and yield.
  • Establish scalable testing standards, calibration procedures, SOPs, and data pipelines for semiconductor process integration.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Physics, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in semiconductor device testing, reliability engineering, electrical characterisation, or yield analysis in a foundry, IDM, or semiconductor R&D environment.
  • Strong knowledge of silicon CMOS fabrication, semiconductor device physics, and foundry workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with semiconductor parameter analysers, SMUs, wafer probe stations, and DC or RF electrical testing.
  • Strong Python skills for instrument control, automation, and automated test execution.
  • Analytical and communication skills for working with large datasets and interdisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience with quantum device physics, quantum dots, single-electron transistors, or charge-stability mapping.
  • Cryogenic electrical characterisation and low-temperature measurement experience.
  • Semiconductor yield improvement, process control, statistical analysis, or automated wafer-level testing.
  • Experience with advanced or emerging semiconductor technologies.

Culture & Benefits

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration across quantum engineering, integrated circuits, semiconductor processing, and software.
  • Creative, research-driven environment focused on scalable silicon quantum processors.
  • Competitive salary and share options scheme.
  • Contributory pension, private medical insurance, life assurance, and cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Professional growth opportunities within a 100+ person international team.
