Document Control Manager (Heavy Civil Infrastructure)

Salary: $110,000–$175,000 per year ($53–$84 per hour)

What you will do

• Lead or support document control across complex design and construction programs, including directing staff and coordinating workloads across contracts, phases, and field offices.
• Develop and maintain document control procedures, numbering conventions, revision controls, retention schedules, and traceability standards.
• Administer enterprise document management systems, including permissions, workflows, metadata, issue resolution, and system configuration.
• Oversee the intake, logging, distribution, tracking, and closeout of submittals, RFIs, correspondence, drawings, specifications, and design deliverables.
• Monitor document control metrics, prepare records for audits and reviews, and drive corrective actions to completion.
• Coordinate training, turnover, and closeout documentation, including record drawings, warranties, permits, and indexed archives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, information management, project management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of document control experience on large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects valued at more than $500 million.
• Experience leading a document control function or team on an active design or construction program.
• Working knowledge of drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, correspondence, record documents, and ISO 9001-based document control requirements.
• Experience with document and project management systems such as SharePoint, e-Builder, Aconex, Primavera P6, Unifier, or Kahua.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• CRM, CRA, ISO 9001 auditor, or PMP certification or training.
• Experience with $1 billion-plus programs, system implementation, legacy-record migration, public records requests, claims, disputes, or litigation holds.
• Experience supervising document control staff across multiple contracts or field offices.
• Experience with Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or similar KPI dashboard software.
