Senior Category Manager (Energy)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States; attendance at meetings in various locations and up to 10% travel required.

Salary: $97,600–$138,600 per year

Energy company providing electricity and natural gas products and services to customers across eight Western and Midwestern states.

What you will do

• Develop and implement enterprise-wide sourcing and category strategies to optimize cost, operations, inventory, and total value.
• Lead competitive sourcing events, supplier research, risk profiling, and external market analysis.
• Manage supplier performance, relationships, development plans, scorecards, disputes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Negotiate commercial terms, develop supplier contracts, review contract changes and work orders, and manage contractor claims.
• Administer category contract agreements, define contract risks, and collaborate with Legal and Security teams on risk management.
• Lead cross-functional business and Supply Chain teams, project plans, change management, and implementation of category strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, business, or a related technical or analytical field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• At least five years of supply chain experience focused on sourcing.
• At least three years of contract formation knowledge and experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and significant experience with purchasing and sourcing systems.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, relationship, and collaboration skills.
• Driver’s license and availability to attend meetings in various locations, with up to 10% travel.

Nice to have

• Category management experience in staff augmentations or enterprise services.
• MBA and CPSM or another supply chain certification.
• Negotiation and project management skills.
