Patient Access Associate Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: Onsite at Covenant-St Mary's in Lewiston, Maine; candidates must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $18.00–$19.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Register patients accurately, assign medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Perform eligibility, medical necessity, compliance, and insurance verification checks to support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Pre-register patient accounts, conduct inbound and outbound calls, explain financial liabilities and payment plan options, and collect balances.
• Explain and distribute treatment consent forms, Medicare and Tricare notices, observation forms, ABNs, and other required patient documents.
• Audit patient accounts, correct documentation, maintain reporting data, and provide statistical information to Patient Access leadership.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate service to patients, guardians, colleagues, and healthcare departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvement.
• CRCR certification required within six months of hire; certification costs are covered by the company.
• Must be able to work onsite at Covenant-St Mary's in Lewiston, Maine and reside and be authorized to work in the United States.
