Patient Ambassador (Healthcare)

Location: Arlington, VA, USA; onsite Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

What you will do

• Intake patients, ask screening questions, and explain screening procedures and facility processes.
• Serve as a welcoming point of contact by answering questions, providing emotional support, and guiding patients and families through the facility.
• Assess patient needs and direct individuals requiring urgent attention to medical providers or emergency services.
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff regarding patient needs, scheduling information, appointments, no-shows, and cancellations.
• Enter and retrieve information in computer systems while maintaining accurate and confidential communication.
• Monitor the assigned area for safety, security, cleanliness, and crowding issues, and gather patient feedback for care improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• At least one year of customer service or patient service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to use common office equipment and software.
• Ability to handle changing tasks, collaborate with others, follow directions, and remain composed under stress.
• Ability to protect and disclose patient health information in accordance with HIPAA standards.

Nice to have

• Customer service or patient-facing experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
