What you will do

• Diagnose and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on military, industrial, commercial, and War Readiness Reserve vehicles and equipment.
• Remove, repair, replace, and reinstall vehicle components, including valves, chains, lift cylinders, clutches, transmissions, brakes, and engine parts.
• Repair hydraulic systems, forklifts, towing equipment, gasoline and diesel engines, and water, fuel-pumping, and electrical systems.
• Inspect tractors, trailers, material-handling equipment, special-purpose vehicles, and base fleet vehicles.
• Perform functional tests, oil and filter changes, housekeeping, and safety procedures in accordance with applicable standards.
• Enter maintenance data into Air Force systems, request parts, and coordinate with Material Control.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience in vehicle or mechanical repair.
• Formal training in vehicle maintenance practices or vehicle mechanics.
• Spanish communication skills and English Level I: speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Spanish Class B driver's license.
• Ability to perform 24-hour standby duties when required and work indoors and outdoors in hazardous or inclement conditions.

Nice to have

• Valid Class C driver's license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
