Senior Software Development Engineer (AI Privacy)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Salary: €86,400–€129,600 base annually, plus potential bonus and annual refresh stock grants

What you will do

• Build REST and gRPC APIs, a Python SDK, and CLI interfaces for anonymized data and on-demand de-identification.
• Design, build, and operate high-throughput anonymization and de-identification services and data pipelines using Spark, EMR, and SageMaker.
• Implement differential privacy, group anonymization, and synthetic data generation, including tooling for privacy-parameter calibration and adversarial evaluation.
• Operate ML systems at scale by improving GPU provisioning and utilization, quantization, batch throughput, serving, and compute cost.
• Drive automated testing, CI/CD, code review, architecture documentation, and design reviews while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers, external research partners, Product Legal, and compliance stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience architecting, building, and scaling backend or data-intensive systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python or comparable experience with Java, Scala, or Go and willingness to work primarily in Python.
• Experience with object-oriented design, software architecture, REST/gRPC APIs, SDKs, and distributed microservices.
• Experience operating large-scale distributed data processing systems and optimizing memory, throughput, and compute cost.
• Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining production systems on AWS or an equivalent cloud platform, plus automated testing and CI/CD.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience or research background in de-identification, group anonymization, differential privacy, or synthetic data generation.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, transformer architectures, NER, Hugging Face, and GPU inference optimization.
• Exposure to agent orchestration or LLM evaluation frameworks such as LangGraph or LangSmith.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI, bias and fairness evaluation, GDPR, and privacy compliance.
• Experience working with external research partners or consultancies.
