Cost & Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Defense)

What you will do

• Apply DfX methodologies covering manufacturing, assembly, supply chain, testing, and modularity to reduce cost and design complexity.
• Provide cost estimates and analysis to support early design and procurement decisions.
• Lead the strategy and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes, including additive manufacturing, composite manufacturing, and friction stir welding.
• Define how new mechanical technologies can be industrialized for scalable and cost-effective production.
• Reduce part count, assembly complexity, and lead times while maintaining quality and performance.
• Benchmark industrial practices and develop standardized, modular mechanical design approaches.

Requirements

• Experience in manufacturing engineering, cost engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and DfX methodologies.
• Ability to analyze complex designs and identify efficient production solutions.
• Collaborative approach when working with Engineering, Procurement, suppliers, and Production.
• Commercial awareness and ability to balance technical requirements with cost and supply chain considerations.
• Successful completion of security vetting is required; additional citizenship obligations may apply for positions requiring security clearance.

• Experience working with ISO standards.
