Senior Python Engineer with AWS (Oil and Gas)

Location: Ukraine; remote role

What you will do

• Develop and maintain internal and client-facing products using Python.
• Design scalable backend solutions with AWS Serverless services, including Lambda, Step Functions, S3, and DynamoDB.
• Build and maintain FastAPI APIs and Athena queries for data stored in S3.
• Create and manage Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and use GitHub for source control and delivery workflows.
• Collaborate with founders and cross-functional teams on product priorities, troubleshooting, documentation, and selected client delivery projects.

Requirements

• Strong Python development skills and senior-level backend engineering experience.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS Serverless services, including Lambda, Step Functions, S3, and DynamoDB.
• Experience with FastAPI, Athena, S3 data, Infrastructure as Code, and production-ready backend solutions.
• Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with GitHub, strong communication skills, and the ability to switch between product development and client delivery.
• Understanding of DevOps basics, oil and gas, data platforms, monitoring systems, or optimization tools is advantageous.
