Facilities Mechanical Engineer

Location: On-site in Kulim, Malaysia

What you will do

• Oversee the reliability, maintenance, and operation of mechanical and HVAC systems, including oil-free air systems, exhaust systems, chilled water plants, boilers, and environmental abatement systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical system issues and conduct systematic evaluations to maintain reliability and environmental compliance.
• Design and analyze mechanical systems and equipment, develop engineering scopes of work, and conduct design reviews.
• Perform feasibility studies and testing for new and modified designs, including prototype fabrication support and documentation.
• Collaborate with business unit customers, operations, maintenance providers, and internal teams to implement safe engineering solutions.
• Develop mechanical system roadmaps and asset replacement strategies for facility expansions, renovations, and growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience managing facilities mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, chilled water plants, and environmental abatement systems.
• Proficiency with Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience troubleshooting complex mechanical systems and developing engineering scope of work documents and design reviews.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Kulim, Malaysia.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience coaching and mentoring peers or team members.
• Familiarity with artificial hirify.globalligence tools such as Agentic AI for systems analysis and optimization.
