What you will do
- Support the Processing and Tailings Storage Facility team at the Waihi underground gold mine.
- Assist with dam safety inspections, monitoring, reporting, and construction support.
- Perform soil testing, field testing, and construction QA/QC activities.
- Develop TSF monitoring dashboards and an integrated SharePoint knowledge base.
- Maintain TSF documentation and data while supporting regulatory and operational compliance.
- Present internship experiences, project results, and key learnings to the Site Management Team.
Requirements
- Unrestricted New Zealand working rights are required.
- On-site availability in Waihi, New Zealand, from mid-November 2026 through mid-February 2027 is required.
- Currently studying toward a Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- In the second-last or final year of a relevant degree with strong academic performance.
- Full Class 1 driver's licence; ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, independent-working, and collaborative skills.
