TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical Design): Designing and delivering mechanical systems and equipment for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across New Zealand with an accent on engineering calculations, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination. Focus on supporting projects from concept through commissioning, meeting New Zealand standards, and solving testing and troubleshooting challenges on site.

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; the role supports the Wellington team and projects across wider New Zealand.

Salary: NZ$140,000–NZ$1,600,000 per annum, depending on experience.

What you will do

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Support projects from concept through delivery.
  • Collaborate with electrical, structural, and project engineering teams.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Support site inspections, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with mechanical design and engineering documentation.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and standards.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, prioritization, and independent working skills.
