Waihi Summer Internship – Geologist Resource Development Support

Location: On-site at the Waihi Operation, Waihi, New Zealand. Work hours are 7:00am–4:30pm on a 9-day fortnight roster, totaling 40.5 hours per week.

hirify.global is a global gold and copper producer operating mines in the USA, New Zealand, and the Philippines. The Waihi Operation is an underground gold mine in New Zealand’s North Island.

What you will do

• Support the Resource Development — Exploration & Geology team with practical geological and mining activities.
• Complete geological core logging, field mapping, sampling, and geological data collection.
• Support sample dispatch, tracking, and QA/QC processes.
• Assist with geological database validation, data entry, and backlog reduction.
• Participate in exploration, orebody knowledge, and Resource Development projects.
• Present internship learnings and contributions to the Site Management Team at the end of the placement.

Requirements

• Unrestricted New Zealand working rights are required.
• Available from mid-November 2026 through mid-February 2027.
• Currently in the second-last or final year of a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Geology or Earth Sciences.
• Strong academic performance and an interest in the chosen field.
• Full Class 1 driver’s licence; ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
• Communication, interpersonal, teamwork, independent working, and collaborative working skills.
