Data Engineering Intern (AI/ML)

Location: Vimodrone, Italy; hybrid, with 2 days remote per week

Salary: €1,000/month + €8 restaurant ticket per day

What you will do

• Develop Python and SQL solutions for extracting, transforming, validating, and structuring laboratory and operational data.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, reusable datasets, and data lake or lakehouse capabilities.
• Support Power BI datasets, dashboards, reporting pipelines, and reusable laboratory KPI data models.
• Develop REST API integrations, scripts, and connectors between laboratory and enterprise systems.
• Prepare datasets and pipelines for AI, machine learning, anomaly detection, and predictive laboratory use cases.
• Identify and automate manual Excel extraction, reporting, data entry, and paper-based workflows.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Good understanding of Python, SQL, and relational databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in data engineering and technology.
• Willingness to learn new technologies independently.
• Good English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI, Azure or another cloud platform, and data pipelines using ETL or ELT.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, Git/GitHub, pandas, data lakes, or lakehouses.
• Basic machine-learning knowledge and interest in AI, LLMs, AI agents, Power Automate, or RPA.
• Experience with laboratory, healthcare, or pharmaceutical data.
