Director of Facilities Engineering - APAC (Data Centre)

Nscale is building a vertically integrated cloud platform for AI, combining data centres, software, and applications with a focus on sustainable infrastructure.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day facilities operations across regional data centre sites in APAC.
• Maintain the availability and reliability of critical power, cooling, mechanical, electrical, environmental, and life safety systems.
• Monitor facility performance metrics, lead incident root cause analysis, and drive improvements in uptime, resilience, energy efficiency, and capacity planning.
• Prepare facilities for high-density GPU and AI deployments, including rack density optimization and liquid cooling strategies.
• Oversee commissioning, expansions, retrofits, preventive maintenance, and operational changes in live data centre environments.
• Manage facility vendors and contractors while ensuring regulatory, safety, audit, business continuity, and disaster recovery requirements are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 10+ years of facilities management experience, including 5+ years in data centre facilities operations or critical infrastructure management across APAC.
• Strong knowledge of UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling plants, CRAC/CRAH systems, and liquid cooling.
• Experience managing multi-site or regional operations in high-availability environments.
• Proven incident leadership, operational review, cross-functional coordination, vendor management, and contractor oversight experience.
• Practical, accountable, and collaborative working style.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting high-density AI or HPC environments.
• Experience with commissioning, retrofits, or expansion projects in live data centres.
• Experience with liquid cooling deployment, energy efficiency, sustainability, regulatory compliance, HSE, business continuity, or disaster recovery.
