Mechanical/Robotics Engineering Technician I (Robotics)

Location: Pullman, Washington and Lewiston, Idaho; the role works from both locations, approximately 45 minutes apart.

Salary: $35.38–$51.10 per hour for Level I; Level II compensation is $38.33–$55.44 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop and integrate mechanical and robotic automation solutions for manufacturing operations.
• Use collaborative and industrial robotics, end-of-arm tooling, computer vision, CAD, and custom mechanical tools and fixtures.
• Support projects from problem statement creation through solution integration and closeout.
• Bring designs to the production floor, validate real-world performance, and support production staff.
• Participate in design reviews, provide and receive feedback, and collaborate within a small agile team.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budget while developing technical skills.

Requirements

• Two-year or longer technical degree, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
• Competence in applied physics, geometry, algebra, and basic trigonometry.
• CAD experience.
• Approximately two or more years of experience in at least three areas including automation integration, materials and processes, mechanics, manufacturing engineering, or electronic manufacturing techniques.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, teamwork, and learning skills.
• Must pass a background check and drug test according to SEL requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics, especially Universal Robots collaborative robots.
• Experience with vision systems.
• Experience supporting design, automation, or engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience writing or running Design of Experiments.
