Supplier Quality Engineer (PCBA)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global's headquarters and performed in a U.S. office.

Base Salary: $70,000–$171,600 USD annually. Total Compensation, including equity: $75,000–$228,500 USD annually.

What you will do

• Act as the technical point of contact for assigned PCBA parts and assemblies, resolving supplier quality issues and mitigating production risk.
• Own components and assemblies from supplier selection through production, including manufacturing improvements and rate-ramp development.
• Conduct DFM reviews, partner with procurement on supplier capability, and translate quality and manufacturing requirements into specifications.
• Evaluate depaneling, AOI, X-ray inspection, and other electronics inspection technologies.
• Lead root cause analysis, supplier corrective actions, containment, rework, repair, use-as-is dispositions, and re-sourcing decisions.

Requirements

• Experience in a regulated industry such as aerospace, medical, automotive, or a similar field; required experience ranges from no stated minimum for Level I to 8+ years for Senior II.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Mechatronic Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Previous supplier quality experience.
• Proficiency with GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
• Experience with 8D, A3, or equivalent root cause analysis; AS9100, SPC, process capability, MSA/Gage R&R, PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and FAIR.
• For U.S. office work, eligibility under ITAR requirements is necessary: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required government authorizations.

Nice to have

• PCB fabrication and PCBA assembly processes, including SMT, through-hole, soldering, lamination, plating, and surface finishing.
• IPC standards, first article and qualification processes, electronics testing, failure analysis, cleanliness controls, ESD, MSL, and counterfeit-parts mitigation.
• NADCAP Electronics, MRP/ERP systems, Jira, Confluence, and Power BI experience.
