Summer Associate Internship (Data Scientist)

Location: Hybrid in Vienna, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida, or Winchester, Virginia, United States. Working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM ET.

Salary: $26.44–$46.88 per hour.

What you will do

• Support AI, data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics initiatives for Real Estate Lending.
• Explore applications of large language models and AI agents for information retrieval, analytical workflows, member experience, and operational efficiency.
• Design, develop, and evaluate predictive models, advanced algorithms, and LLM-driven AI agents.
• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify patterns in member behavior, engagement, and loan activity.
• Transform analytical results into charts, tables, recommendations, and presentations for business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with team members, subject matter experts, and leaders while applying ethical AI practices.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a graduate degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or another quantitative field.
• Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Working knowledge of statistics, machine learning, data mining, data visualization, programming, data modeling, simulation, and quantitative analysis.
• Experience with SQL, R, Python/PySpark, Hadoop, SAS, AWS, GitHub, APIs, Databricks, Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, and Power BI.
• Interest in or exposure to LLMs and agent development, including prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases, embeddings, AI guardrails, LLM evaluations, and fine-tuning fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, research, communication, presentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
