TL;DR
Global Payroll Manager (Global Payroll/HRIS): Managing and scaling multi-country payroll operations, controls, compliance, and payroll technology in a distributed technology environment with an accent on automation, accuracy, and operational excellence. Focus on coordinating audits and regulatory requirements, analyzing payroll costs, implementing scalable systems, and leading a global payroll team.
Location: Home-based in EMEA time zones, with the option to be based in the London office. International travel twice a year for company events may be required.

What you will do
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations across multiple countries, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Collaborate with HR, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Treasury, FP&A, and external payroll providers.
- Review and approve payrolls, maintain controls, and investigate payroll and salary-cost variances.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax, statutory, reporting, employment, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external payroll audits and monitor legislative changes.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement, including the use of AI, while leading and mentoring global payroll professionals.
Requirements
- Significant experience supporting multi-country or global payroll operations.
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, taxation, internal controls, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Degree in Accounting or Finance, or a compelling alternative career path.
- Experience with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, spreadsheets, analysis, reconciliation, and problem-solving.
- Leadership experience with a commitment to mentoring and skills development.
- Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills; availability to work in EMEA time zones.
Nice to have
- Experience implementing or optimizing payroll platforms and HRIS systems.
- Payroll experience in publicly traded or pre-IPO companies.
- Experience supporting rapid expansion and launching payroll in new countries.
- MBA or another relevant business degree.
- Passion for technology and experience working with motivated colleagues.
