Associate Attorney (Civil Defense)

Location: Denver, Colorado. Flexible work model with remote, hybrid, or onsite options available. An active Colorado Bar license is required.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Develop case strategies for complex civil defense matters.
• Manage discovery, depositions, substantive motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Independently handle court appearances, depositions, motions, trials, and a full caseload.
• Communicate consistently with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel, and prospective clients.
• Build client relationships and mentor junior attorneys.

Requirements

• Active Colorado Bar license and Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 1–8 years of litigation experience, including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation.
• At least 2 years of insurance defense experience preferred, especially in general liability, trucking, construction defect, premises liability, personal injury, or professional liability.
• Ability to independently manage a full caseload from discovery through trial.
• Experience with litigation timekeeping and billing systems; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
