Analytics Engineer (WNBA)

Location: New York, USA; eligible employees may work remotely one day per week.

Salary: $115,000–$130,000 per year.

hirify.global is a professional basketball organization supporting the Whirify.global, a women’s basketball league combining competition, entertainment, digital media, and community outreach.

What you will do

• Design and develop analytical data models supporting Whirify.global reporting, advanced analytics, AI, and self-service reporting.
• Integrate fan identity, subscription, engagement, and viewership data into a unified Whirify.global fan journey.
• Develop reusable datasets, semantic layers, business metrics, and scalable transformations that reduce manual analysis.
• Establish documentation and data governance using tools such as Alation and Confluence.
• Implement automated data quality testing, monitoring, and validation processes.
• Partner with Data Science, Analytics, Data Engineering, business teams, and external partners to onboard data sources and support new analytical initiatives.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL skills and experience developing complex analytical data models.
• Production data pipeline and transformation experience using dbt or a similar analytics engineering framework.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and analytics engineering practices.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Experience with semantic layers, reusable analytical datasets, Git-based workflows, automated data quality, monitoring, and documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or analytical data modeling. A technical or quantitative field and sports, media, entertainment, or direct-to-consumer experience are preferred.
