Systems Engineering, Specialist (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan

What you will do

• Maintain high availability for critical systems in line with SLAs and SLOs.
• Administer Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure and VMware-based on-premises environments.
• Install, configure, maintain, and tune Windows and RHEL operating systems and system software.
• Monitor system health, performance, capacity, alerts, dashboards, and operational trends.
• Manage software currency, vulnerability remediation, patching, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities.
• Troubleshoot complex incidents, lead root-cause analysis and retrospectives, maintain technical documentation, coordinate vendors, and support the departmental information security and ISO programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT, or at least 3 years of equivalent IT experience.
• At least 3 years of experience managing VMware core components, including vCenter and ESX, and Microsoft Windows Server.
• Experience with ISO 27001-governed information security management systems, vulnerability reviews, risk assessments, and remediation.
• Experience with Active Directory, ADFS, Azure AD Connect, Azure AD, AD Certificate Services, Exchange Server, MS SQL, Azure solutions, and Veeam.
• Knowledge of Dell, HP, and Pure Storage infrastructure and Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence.
• Eligibility to work for hirify.global in Canada in a full-time capacity; successful candidates must complete Canadian background and employment checks.

Nice to have

• Foundational knowledge of ITIL and project management.
