Staff Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Crossman Excellence Building, Sunnyvale, California, United States

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 annual, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Deliver platform capabilities covering infrastructure, developer tooling, and ML frameworks.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, and automation to build scalable and resilient systems.
• Conduct system design reviews and integrate AI/ML components and intelligent automation.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote documentation and engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track outcome metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 4 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, and automation.
• Experience with software design patterns, API design, platform development, CI/CD, and observability.
• Experience integrating AI/ML and developing intelligent automation with Python, JavaScript, and Java.
• Technical leadership, mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, debugging, and continuous improvement experience.
• Ability to work at the Sunnyvale, California location.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
