Large Language Model Specialist (AI): Designing and operationalizing fine-tuning workflows for large language models across supervised, preference-based, and reinforcement learning approaches with an accent on dataset quality, distributed training, and rigorous evaluation. Focus on optimizing GPU-based training pipelines, implementing parameter-efficient fine-tuning, evaluating model safety and capabilities, and reliably shipping production-ready LLM systems.
Location: 100% remote within the United States
Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do
- Design and execute LLM fine-tuning experiments using supervised learning, DPO, RLHF, and related techniques.
- Lead dataset construction, curation, quality assurance, and preference-data development.
- Build and operate scalable training pipelines on distributed GPU clusters.
- Optimize hyperparameters, training stability, throughput, mixed precision, sequence packing, and efficient attention.
- Develop evaluation suites covering automated benchmarks, human evaluation, capability probes, safety, refusal, and policy behavior.
- Collaborate with product, research, platform, and engineering partners while documenting work and mentoring engineers.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Six or more years of combined ML research and engineering experience with significant LLM exposure.
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern deep learning frameworks, especially PyTorch.
- Hands-on experience fine-tuning transformer-based language models at non-trivial scale.
- Experience with distributed training strategies including FSDP, ZeRO, and pipeline parallelism.
- Experience with RLHF, DPO, evaluation methodology, GPU-cluster operations, and recovery from training failures.
Nice to have
- Publications at top-tier ML venues.
- Experience with multimodal fine-tuning, synthetic data generation, or dataset distillation.
- Open-source contributions to LLM training libraries.
- Experience with responsible AI evaluation and red-teaming.
