Automotive Senior Technician

Salary: $20.60–$34.60 per hour, with performance-based flat-rate compensation.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and recommended repairs to customers without mechanical backgrounds.
• Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least three A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skills in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
• Skills in general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Employment requires completion of Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify applicants.

Nice to have

• Three years of automotive repair experience, demonstrated skills through third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• A.S.E. certification in at least one A1–A8 area; L1 certification is acceptable.
