Medical Assistant

Location: Onsite in Hoover, Alabama, United States. Part-time schedule: Tuesdays 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, Thursdays 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, and every other Saturday 7:00 AM–11:00 AM.

What you will do

• Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records.
• Prepare treatment rooms and clean and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications and injections, perform laboratory tests, and operate EKG and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations.
• Support front-desk operations, schedule appointments, make follow-up calls, and order medical supplies.
• Assist providers and contribute to smooth clinic operations from patient check-in through checkout.

Requirements

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a hirify.global-approved organization, or a certificate/diploma and transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a completed and passed hands-on externship.
• Online-only courses are not accepted.
• Current Basic Life Support certification with hands-on training from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
