Mechanical / Industrial Engineering Internship 2027 (Manufacturing Engineering)

Location: Farmingdale, New York, United States; onsite manufacturing facility

Salary: $45,223–$71,481 annually, with a possible annual or quarterly bonus and potential shift premium.

What you will do

• Implement manufacturing process improvements, automation, and robotics integration.
• Design, lay out, and improve assigned processes while monitoring performance and developing technical solutions.
• Support design-for-manufacturability, cost-savings, process control, yield improvement, and production-capacity initiatives.
• Create and update work instructions, training guides, and certification tests.
• Compare manufacturing practices with external benchmarks and industry standards.
• Present project updates to local leadership and participate in design reviews, workshops, and trade shows; limited travel is required.

Requirements

• Must be based at the Farmingdale, New York facility.
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university and have completed the sophomore year.
• Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and have experience applying engineering concepts to solve problems.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use structured problem-solving, project-management, data-based decision-making, and statistical tools for experiment design and analysis.
• Must be a US citizen and have a background permitting the US Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance; must comply with US export-control and ITAR requirements.
