Associate R&D Process Engineer, Business Sustaining

Location: Vista, CA — On Site

Salary: $84,000–$89,000 per year

What you will do

• Support material change projects across softgel, gummy, and packaging processes in accordance with cGMP and internal quality systems.
• Conduct small-scale engineering trials, collect process data, track parameters, and support packaging, softgel, and gummy process development.
• Support DOE studies, center-lining, process capability assessments, troubleshooting, and scale-up readiness.
• Maintain MMRs, SOPs, batch records, work instructions, process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and trial documentation.
• Support process improvement initiatives and RCA/CAPA investigations through data gathering, documentation, and analysis.
• Provide technical support during production runs and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Product Development, QA, Supply Chain, and Engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, pharmaceutical engineering, food science, or a related field.
• Experience in manufacturing, process development, or engineering; internships are acceptable.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create SOPs, batch records, specifications, test reports, and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to learn and operate specialized instrumentation for product characterization and specification development.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
• Ability to solve complex problems with multiple variables, follow instructions, and work with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience in dietary supplements, food, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing.
• Familiarity with SAP, PLM, or other manufacturing systems.
• Hands-on experience with production equipment, pilot trials, or lab-scale process work.
