Director, Private Markets Accounting (Private Equity)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States (hybrid)

Salary: $115,000–$215,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Oversee accounting, administration, and client deliverables for multiple alternative investment funds, primarily private equity funds.
• Manage client relationships, expectations, project timelines, and new business discussions.
• Review fund governing, offering, subscription, investment management, and transaction documents to ensure correct application of fund terms.
• Review capital activity, investment activity, accruals, valuations, management fees, investor allocations, and capital account statements.
• Create, maintain, and review distribution waterfall and carried interest models, financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules.
• Manage year-end audits and establish review procedures for accurate and complete deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 15+ years of accounting experience focused on alternative investment funds.
• 5+ years of experience supervising at least two professional staff, including hiring, termination, and continuous performance feedback responsibilities.
• Hands-on leadership, staff development, project management, multitasking, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Boston, Massachusetts.
