Optical Manager, Non-Certified – Sam’s Club

Hourly wage: $28.00–$40.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Lead optical department sales growth through merchandising, pricing, inventory oversight, seasonal execution, and analysis of sales and operational reports.
• Provide eyewear and contact lens consultations, measurements, fittings, adjustments, repairs, inspections, and order processing under applicable optometric supervision.
• Oversee equipment calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, trial lens inventory, quality assurance, and communication with laboratories, suppliers, and optometrists.
• Manage appointment scheduling, pre-testing, contact lens documentation, payment collection, and support for doctor or telehealth services where applicable.
• Lead hiring, training, coaching, performance management, recognition, workflow planning, and development of optical associates.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, optical regulations, safety protocols, asset protection requirements, inventory controls, and company policies.

Requirements

• Completion of two or more years of college, or qualifying combinations of retail, supervisory, general, and optical experience.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon entry or within 12 months of hire to sit for the American Board of Opticianry exam.
• Meet applicable requirements for optical associates, including age, registration, certification, and state licensure requirements.
• Obtain ABO certification within 15 months.
• In applicable states, obtain required optician licensure within 18 months of hire or the longer state-mandated timeframe; maintain an NPI number, active licensure, and Optician in Charge status where required.
• Work onsite at the Sam’s Club optical location in Butler, Pennsylvania, United States.
