TL;DR
Senior Application Architect (Contract Funding) (Java/Spring/Financial Services): Owning the vision, roadmap, development, and continuous improvement of a mission-critical contract funding application with an accent on modernization, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional solution delivery. Focus on designing APIs and system interfaces, developing and deploying application components, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring reliable integration across Finance, Operations, Compliance, Sales, and Credit.
Location: Charlotte, NC, US; hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. Applicants may work in or relocate to Charlotte, but relocation assistance is not available.

What you will do
- Own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for the Contract Funding application.
- Lead enhancements that simplify and modernize contract funding processes.
- Translate business and technical needs into requirements, system scope, and actionable solutions.
- Design, develop, test, debug, document, and deploy application components.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Contract Funding business processes and system functionality.
- Partner with IT, Finance, Operations, Compliance, Sales, and Credit on strategic initiatives and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years of relevant experience.
- At least 6 years of hands-on development experience with Java 8+, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, JDBC, Hibernate, REST/SOAP APIs, and Tomcat.
- Experience with Java/J2EE, Struts, JSP, JSON, XML, SQL, DB2 or PostgreSQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript, jQuery, GWT, and Angular.
- Strong experience designing and developing web services, APIs, system interfaces, and distributed systems.
- UI development experience with Angular or React, HTML5, CSS3, and XML.
- Experience with GitHub or GitLab, Jenkins, deployment automation, Agile/Scrum, Jira, and DevOps pipelines.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience building microservices applications.
- Knowledge of SDLC practices, unit and integration testing, JUnit, JMock, Karma, or Jasmine.
- Experience creating System Integration Test cases with DevOps tools such as Jira.
