Digital Content Producer

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States; onsite. Full-time schedule may include daybreak, weekend, or nightside hours.

What you will do

• Publish 3–5 locally focused stories per shift, including quick-hits, breaking news, and reported pieces.
• Edit reporter content and broadcast copy for digital publication.
• Curate and aggregate content from wire services based on analytics and audience interests.
• Promote news content through social media and apply distribution best practices.
• Zone homepage layouts using traffic patterns and performance data.
• Contribute to special digital projects and support coverage during breaking news and severe weather.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to research, interview, and write original news articles.
• Strong headline-writing, news judgment, communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of AP Stylebook, social media audiences, and SEO.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and WordPress.
• Ability to work onsite in Grand Rapids and handle pressure during breaking news coverage.
