TL;DR
Associate Counsel, Global Regulatory Affairs (Fintech): Coordinating complex regulatory matters and developing regulatory strategies, submissions, and responses for a global payments technology company with an accent on cross-functional legal collaboration, government engagement, and regulatory analysis. Focus on managing time-sensitive matters across multiple jurisdictions, developing consistent global practices, and advising internal teams on evolving regulatory requirements.

Location: Hybrid role based in Atlanta, Austin, New York, or San Francisco, United States, with in-office attendance required at least 3 times per week. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $195,000–$237,000 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments where applicable.

What you will do

  • Coordinate and manage complex, time-sensitive regulatory matters across global and regional markets.
  • Develop and execute regulatory positions and strategies with legal, business, and government affairs teams.
  • Draft regulatory submissions and responses to government requests and public consultations.
  • Support direct engagement with governments, regulators, and policymakers.
  • Develop global best practices and promote consistent application of regulatory strategies across functions and regions.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality legal analysis, drafting, research, and communication under tight deadlines.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree and J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the United States and membership in good standing of any U.S. state bar.
  • Strong judgment, analytical, problem-solving, client counseling, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, resourcefulness, self-motivation, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Comfort using emerging technologies and artificial intelligence tools to improve legal work.

Nice to have

  • Four years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with payments, financial services, technology, or public policy.
  • International experience or fluency/professional proficiency in foreign languages.
