Senior Snowflake Architect / Developer (Higher Education)

Location: United States — Remote; periodic travel may be required based on business and client needs.

Salary: $120,000–$188,000 USD annually, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and optimization of Snowflake-based data solutions for higher education clients.
• Conduct client discovery, requirements, architecture, and technical design workshops.
• Assess current Snowflake environments and develop future-state enterprise data models and architectures.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines integrating enterprise applications, databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and file-based sources.
• Troubleshoot Snowflake performance, query, data-load, security, integration, and configuration issues.
• Translate institutional requirements into technical architectures, source-to-target mappings, data models, and development specifications while leading technical workstreams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data architecture, data warehousing, analytics, or related data technology roles.
• 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake architecture and development experience, including scalable environments, SQL, data modeling, security, performance, and cost optimization.
• Experience delivering data, analytics, data warehouse, or cloud data platform solutions within higher education.
• Experience implementing data-quality controls, reconciliation, validation, exception handling, and monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to build trusted advisor relationships and support sales and business development.
• Must be located in the United States; periodic travel is required.

Nice to have

• Higher education domain experience across student, admissions, enrollment, advancement, finance, human resources, research, or institutional reporting data.
• Experience with Workday, PeopleSoft, Ellucian Banner, Colleague, Salesforce Education Cloud, Slate, or advancement CRM platforms.
• Experience with Snowpark, Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks, Dynamic Tables, Secure Data Sharing, Snowflake Marketplace, Cortex, or other Snowflake AI capabilities.
• Experience with Boomi, MuleSoft, Informatica, Azure Data Factory, dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, Power BI, Tableau, or Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• SnowPro Advanced Architect, SnowPro Advanced Data Engineer, or SnowPro Core certification; consulting and mentoring experience.
