Senior Software Engineer, Deploy at Scale (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Austin, TX, United States. An in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub may be required at the offer stage.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for the platform powering safe, reliable, and automated deployments across hirify.global.
• Set technical direction across multiple work streams, define architecture, and shape the multi-quarter roadmap with engineering management and leadership.
• Lead cross-team design reviews, RFCs, and incident retrospectives focused on deployment safety.
• Design health-mediated deployments, rollback paths, guardrails, and automation for hundreds of thousands of daily releases.
• Unify release orchestration, health mediation, feature flagging, and configuration rollback into one platform.
• Mentor engineers, review designs, pair on complex problems, and influence technical direction across teams without direct authority.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including end-to-end ownership of complex, distributed, production-critical systems.
• Demonstrated technical leadership through RFCs, design reviews, architecture decisions, mentorship, and cross-team influence.
• Deep experience with production safety, observability, automation, rollback paths, health signals, and guardrails.
• Ability to define ambiguous problems and roadmaps, make long-term architectural trade-offs, and operate autonomously.
• Fluent use of AI-assisted development, with critical evaluation of AI output and judgment about its use in safety-critical systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write persuasive technical documentation and RFCs.

Nice to have

• Experience with workflow orchestration, long-running or durable execution, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience owning deployment, progressive delivery, or change-management platforms at scale.
• Experience leading technical migrations across many independent teams.
