Automotive Lead Technician

Location: 227558 Hamilton West; onsite in the United States

Pay range: $24.10–$43.51 per hour under a performance-based flat-rate compensation model. A $3,000 sign-on bonus may be available.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
• Perform general automotive maintenance and tire repairs to specification.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers and other non-technical individuals.
• Assist with training and mentoring technicians and mechanics.
• Stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Complete or maintain ASE certifications in at least five A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid automobile driver's license and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skill in brake diagnosis and repair.
• Demonstrated skill in alignment, steering, and suspension diagnosis and repair.
• Knowledge of general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, plus reading, writing, and math skills.

Nice to have

• Five years of automotive repair experience, demonstrated skills through third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• ASE certification in at least three A1–A8 areas, with brakes and steering and suspension certifications preferred.
• Experience with electrical and electronic systems, engine repair and performance, transmissions, drivetrains, and automotive heating and air conditioning.
