Location: Onsite at HSHS - St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, Illinois; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

  • Perform patient admission, registration, pre-registration, and demographic and insurance information collection.
  • Assign accurate medical record numbers, process physician orders, and complete medical necessity and compliance checks.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, select appropriate plan codes, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
  • Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain signatures and distribute required documents.
  • Conduct account audits, correct documentation issues, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service while meeting organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.
  • CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
  • Ability to work onsite at HSHS - St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, Illinois.
  • Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.
