R&D Design Engineer I (Aerospace)

Location: 100% onsite in Inglewood, California, United States. Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR export-control requirements.

Salary: $90,000–$105,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Design, analyze, and prototype pneumatic, mechanical, and electromechanical components and assemblies.
• Develop mechanisms such as linkages, levers, pneumatic devices, solenoid operators, and motor operators.
• Create design concepts using hand sketches and CAD tools.
• Perform structural analysis and system performance simulation analysis.
• Conduct basic measurements and inspection processes.
• Prepare engineering, analysis, and test reports while contributing independently and within cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering, including BSME or BSAE qualification.
• 1–2 years of relevant work experience and demonstrated coursework or experience in mechanical or electromechanical device design, analysis, and development.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical component manufacturing and manufacturing techniques.
• Experience with CAD tools; CATIA is preferred, with Creo or SolidWorks also relevant.
• Fluent written and spoken English, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR: a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs is required.

Nice to have

• Prior assembly or shop experience.
• Experience documenting work through technical, engineering, or test reports.
