Risk Manager (Heavy Civil Infrastructure)

Location: New Jersey, USA; New York, USA. The role is associated with US-based infrastructure programs and requires employment work authorization verification through E-Verify.

Salary: $125,000–$200,000 per year ($60–$96 per hour).

What you will do

• Develop and maintain risk management plans, processes, governance frameworks, and program risk registers.
• Facilitate risk identification and assessment workshops with program staff, designers, contractors, and third-party stakeholders.
• Quantify cost and schedule exposure using Monte Carlo or comparable simulations and recommend contingency levels tied to confidence levels.
• Analyze baseline and updated schedules, cost forecasts, change logs, delay claims, and time impact analyses.
• Track mitigation actions, evaluate contract risk allocation, and support negotiations with quantified cost and schedule findings.
• Prepare risk and contingency materials for funding submissions, board packages, oversight reviews, dashboards, and written reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, construction engineering, engineering management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of risk management experience on large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects valued above $500 million.
• Experience maintaining program risk registers and facilitating risk workshops across the project lifecycle.
• Experience with quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis, contingency recommendations, CPM scheduling, and cost forecasting.
• Experience with risk and scheduling software such as Primavera Risk Analysis, Deltek Acumen Fuse, @Risk, or Primavera P6.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree and active PMI-RMP, PMP, DRMP, or CCP certification.
• Experience leading owner-side risk management for programs exceeding $1 billion in construction value.
• Experience with contractor delay claims, concurrent delay, time impact analyses, and executive contingency reviews.
• Experience with bridge, water and wastewater, railroad, utility, airport, or transit infrastructure interfaces.
• Experience with Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other dashboard KPI reporting tools.
