TL;DR
Principal Industrial Simulation Engineer (Manufacturing): Developing and validating discrete-event, agent-based, continuous-flow, and emulation models for advanced manufacturing operations with an accent on digital twins, throughput optimization, automation integration, and industrial systems analysis. Focus on modeling PLC and MES interactions, identifying bottlenecks, supporting capital investment decisions, and translating simulation results into manufacturing and executive actions.

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA. Travel: 30–50%.

Salary: $91,200–$175,000 in Zone C, $100,300–$192,500 in Zone B, or $109,400–$210,000 in Zone A, depending on work location and labor-market zone. The role is also eligible for incentive plans.

Company

hirify.global develops consumer brands and operates manufacturing environments supported by engineering, automation, supply chain, and operations teams.

What you will do

  • Develop discrete-event, agent-based, continuous-flow, and digital-twin simulation models for manufacturing lines, workcells, and end-to-end processes.
  • Build emulation environments to test automation equipment, PLC logic, MES interactions, and system integration scenarios.
  • Validate models through data analysis and time studies, then evaluate capacity, bottlenecks, throughput, labor needs, and equipment utilization.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations and ROI analysis for layouts, line balancing, equipment, automation, and process changes.
  • Support new product introductions by modeling ramp-up curves, takt times, and resource plans.
  • Lead adoption of simulation and emulation methods, maintain modeling standards and documentation, and present findings to technical and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing simulation, emulation, or industrial engineering.
  • Expertise with discrete-event simulation tools such as Emulate 3D, AnyLogic, Plant Simulation, FlexSim, or Arena.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, automation systems, line balancing, cycle-time analysis, throughput modeling, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience interpreting PLC logic, MES workflows, or automation system behavior.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming, including Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Python.

Culture & Benefits

  • Values-based and inclusive culture focused on employee wellbeing and professional development.
  • Comprehensive health plans and inclusive fertility and adoption benefits.
  • Market-leading 401(k) program with company match.
